The Ganges flows into this tank through a spout in the shape of a cow's mouth. This place has a religious as well as historical importance. A big fair is held here on Krishanashtmi, the eight day of the month ‘bhadrapad'. ‘Bhadrapad' falls between late August and early September.
Religious and historical places ------ There is a temple dedicated to 11 Rudra Mahadevas (Rudra is Shiv in one of his incarnation). It was built in the 11 th century.
There is also a temple dedicated to 7100 Mahadevas.
There is a huge Jain temple here.
It is said that Hanuman ji appeared on this hill in the 9 th century. There is a Hanuman temple around His statue. There is a natural water body around this temple which is a sight to behold.
In the 8 th century Ma Durga appeared in the ashram. There is a 5 pillared canopy situated on a 300 m high hill.
Yog Ashram ------ It is situated among the hills in a peaceful place which is perfect for meditation for yogis and hermits. Once you travel to this place and have a bath in the holy tank, you feel rejuvenated and revived. It is a belief that a dip in this holy water makes you free from many physical ailments. The ashram has branches in Rajasthan, Haryana, Delhi and U.P., where Naturopathy camps are regularly held.
Within a short period of 5 years Meher Yog has started running various service centres which are milestones established by Guruji for healthy and disease free bodies. The inspiration for all this comes from the yogis who have been following and practising Naturopathy for a balanced healthy body. Here, training is imparted according to the rules of Patanjali Yog Shastra. Various processes like Ashtanga yog, Pranayam, Pratyahar, Dharna, Dhyan, Samadhi etc. are practised. Along with Patanjali Yog Sutras, there is a provision for training in Vedas, Upanishadas, philosophy etc and practical studies. Provision is also there for training in Kapalbhati, Shatkaram Neti as well as Jap Yog and Dhyan yog.
